We’re looking for a Platform Engineer who understands how systems work underneath, from the OS and network up to the cloud, and who will own the software on our growing device fleet and the infrastructure that runs it.\n\nWhat you'll do\n• Own the software on our edge fleet once a device is online: components, configuration, and OS, kernel and GPU driver updates.\n• Build the release path to devices: CI/CD, canary, staged rollouts and rollback over unreliable factory networks.\n• Run fleet monitoring and alerting that catches failing devices and cameras before customers notice; decide whether a fault is software or hardware.\n• Debug hard problems across the stack (processes, memory, disk, network, GPU) and fix root causes, not symptoms.\n• Own our cloud infrastructure in Terraform, including the central systems we use to manage the edge fleet (AWS).\n• Work closely with our Installations team, who set up devices and networks on site.\n\nYou are\n• 8-10 years in platform, infrastructure, SRE or systems roles.\n• Strong OS fundamentals: processes, memory, file systems, boot, services. You can debug a Linux machine from the shell.\n• Solid networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, firewalls.\n• Experienced with automation and infrastructure as code (Terraform a must, Ansible or similar) and CI/CD. Comfortable with containers and AWS.\n• Methodical and curious: you want to know why something broke, not just make it work again.\n\nNice to have\n• Have run a fleet of remote, on-prem or edge machines (IoT, retail, telecom).\n• AWS IoT Greengrass or similar device management.\n• NVIDIA GPUs or Jetson: drivers, CUDA.\n• Unattended installs or OS images (PXE, cloud-init, ...).\n• Kubernetes in production.\n• Video, camera or ML inference workloads.\n\nWhy this role matters\nYou'll keep our systems running smoothly and help the team ship with confidence. And if you're curious about ML, you'll get real exposure to production AI systems.\n\n#LI-SP1 #LI-Hybrid\nWhat we offer\nEmployee Share Options Program for all permanent employees*\nAn increasing benefits list: currently includes Urban Sports club and quarterly team retreats.\nBe on the forefront in defining what artificial intelligence means in manufacturing\nGain hands-on experience in working in an AI-first software company\nSupportive and inclusive culture that values diversity and promotes the advancement of underrepresented groups within the company\nCollaborate with a diverse (currently more than 10 nationalities) and talented team, working on cutting-edge projects with real-world impact\nNetwork with professionals and leaders in the field, opening doors to potential future career opportunities\nWe have a very flat hierarchy, open 360° feedback, and flexible working hours\nEthics⚖: We are committed to developing ethical AI software\n\nDon't meet all the requirements?\nAlmetra is committed to creating a workplace that is diverse, fair, and inclusive.
