If selected, you’ll have the chance to really develop your own future career path with us through your practice-related thesis, promote your chosen specialty from within – and position yourself to secure the career you’ve always wanted.\n\nWe, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Ph.D. program in World Models and World Action Models for behavior prediction, reactive scene forecasting and driving policy optimization in the field of autonomous driving.\n\nWhat awaits you?\n\n-\nConduct cutting-edge research on state-of-the-art machine learning methods, with a focus on Generative AI, world models, and End-to-End Autonomous Driving.\n\n-\nDesign and develop novel world action model architectures for behavior prediction, reactive scene forecasting, and driving policy learning in complex traffic environments.\n\n-\nInvestigate methods for modeling interactions between traffic participants and predicting the consequences of vehicle actions in closed-loop settings.\n\n-\nEvaluate and benchmark developed methods on public research datasets and large-scale proprietary BMW driving datasets.\n\n-\nCollaborate closely with researchers and engineers working on next-generation autonomous driving systems and decision-making frameworks.\n\nWhat should you bring along?\n\n-\nUniversity degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.\n\n-\nStrong background in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Low Level Sensor Fusion, and Robotics.\n\n-\nStrong experience with PyTorch / TensorFlow.\n\n-\nExperience with modern development tools such as Docker and Git.\n\n-\nFluent in written and spoken English.
