Your team owns software close to the hardware, from microcontrollers responsible for power management, sensor synchronization, and I/O through to Linux-based systems, low level kernel drivers, and tooling used by Electrical Engineering and Production.\n\nYou will combine people leadership with strong technical ownership. Working closely with Electrical Engineering, System Software, Product, Production, Quality, and Support, you will help define technical direction, establish priorities, and make clear trade-offs between scope, quality, and timelines. You will remain close enough to the technology to review architecture and designs, unblock complex problems, and contribute during critical phases such as new-platform bring-up.\n\nThis is a hybrid role, with an expectation of three days onsite each week.\n\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT\n\n•\nLead and develop the Embedded Software team, supporting engineers through regular feedback, growth planning, performance management, hiring, and onboarding\n\n•\nOwn the team's technical direction and architecture across ARM Linux systems, kernel drivers, bare-metal and RTOS firmware and Python-based engineering and production tooling\n\n•\nShape the team roadmap and priorities together with Electrical Engineering, System Software, Product, Production, Quality, and Support, making technical and delivery trade-offs transparent\n\n•\nDrive strong embedded software engineering practices, including architecture reviews, automated testing, hardware-in-the-loop setups, build systems, CI/CD, firmware packaging, and deployment\n\n•\nGuide the team through complex technical challenges, reviewing designs and code, removing blockers, and contributing directly where deep technical expertise is needed\n\n•\nImprove the reliability and maintainability of embedded systems by reducing knowledge silos and single points of failure across firmware and tooling\n\n•\nBuild strong interfaces between Embedded Software and adjacent teams, translating product and system requirements into clear technical plans\n\n•\nSupport successful new hardware platform bring-up, ensuring software architecture, testing, and integration evolve alongside the hardware\n\nWHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THE ROLE\n\n•\nSignificant experience in embedded software engineering on real hardware, including substantial experience working closely with Electrical Engineering teams\n\n•\nStrong technical expertise in embedded C and C++, including kernel and driver, bare-metal cortex M or RTOS environments, together with solid Linux fundamentals\n\n•\nHands-on experience with Linux-based embedded systems, including areas such as user-space or kernel-space drivers, cross-compilation, toolchains, device trees, or system bring-up\n\n•\nPractical experience with Python for engineering tooling or test automation, alongside modern build, CI/CD, and automated testing practices\n\n•\nExperience leading and developing engineers, either through formal people management or substantial technical leadership, with the ability to give clear feedback, set priorities, and support individual growth\n\n•\nStrong architectural and cross-functional communication skills, with experience defining software architecture, deployment, and testing strategies and aligning teams around them\n\nNice to Have\n\n•\nExperience working with MIPI cameras and image sensors\n\n•\nExperience with over-the-air firmware deployment or provisioning tools, such as Ansible, NIX\n\n•\nKnowledge of high-speed hardware interfaces such as USB 3.x, MIPI CSI-2, MIPI DSI, HDMI, or Gigabit Ethernet\n\n•\nExperience with hybrid SoC and FPGA architectures using high speed PCIe interfaces\n\nHOW WE WILL KNOW WE ARE A PERFECT MATCH\n\nYour recruiting partner for this role is Sylvie (she/her). You can expect to go through a screening call, and up to 3 rounds of interviews, where we would love to discover your passion and interests, introduce you to who we are and what drives us, and finally understand how we can potentially add value to each other's growth.\n\nHOW WE WILL KEEP YOU SMILING\n• It's important to take a break from work! We offer 30 days of paid time off per year\n• Affordable access to a vast network of fitness and wellness facilities through EGYM Wellpass subsidy\n• Deutschlandticket subsidy to support sustainable travel using public transport\n• We offer flexible working hours and a hybrid work setup, enabling you to plan your work around your life, and not your life around work!\n• We offer full visa and relocation support for international candidates\n• An attractive bike leasing model through JobRad, in line with our commitment towards sustainable mobility\n• A competitive compensation package that values the skills and experience you bring\n• Up to 4000 EUR employee referral bonus\n• Financial support for local language classes to help you in your journey of integrating into the culture!\n\nWe derive our strength from our diversity.\nNavVis’ unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace has laid the foundation for our incredible growth. We thrive on the collective strength of our people who come from diverse backgrounds. We respect and value every experience associated with race, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, religion and disability. We do not discriminate on the basis of any of these, or other identities, and strongly encourage everyone to apply.\n\nTogether with you, we build NavVis!\n\nIf you need assistance at any stage of the recruiting process due to a disability, please reach out to your recruiting partner(s) for this position.","responsibilities_text":null,"requirements_text":"•\nExperience working with MIPI cameras and image sensors\n•\nExperience with over-the-air firmware deployment or provisioning tools, such as Ansible, NIX\n•\nKnowledge of high-speed hardware interfaces such as USB 3.x, MIPI CSI-2, MIPI DSI, HDMI, or Gigabit Ethernet\n•\nExperience with hybrid SoC and FPGA architectures using high speed PCIe interfaces\nHOW WE WILL KNOW WE ARE A PERFECT MATCH\nYour recruiting partner for this role is Sylvie (she/her).
